Art Show at the Lucky Monkey
I’ve finally got pictures from the art show I had with my friend Laura Knudsen at the Lucky Monkey November 3rd. The show went well. Laura and I each had six new pieces. I sold three and she sold two. I was also pleasantly suprised that many of my old friends from school came out to see the show, as well as many current friends and my mom and dad. It was a very fun evening and we ate a lot of dumplings and soup.

The orange wall on the left has my paintings, and the light blue wall on the right has Laura’s framed drawings.

A closer shot of Laura’s wall. The shoes and the paintbrush were sold.

Snake on a Crowded Commuter Train
A handpainted wooden handbag. For sale on Etsy. I think this would make a lovely, and unique Christmas/Hanukkah/Solstice/ Kwanzaa/Festivus gift for the fashionable young lady on your list (cough cough).

finished(?) portrait of a little girl

Doing portraits frustrates me so much because I turn into too much of perfectionist and I cannot leave them alone. I never really feel like they are just right. And when I’m doing a portrait for somebody’s loved one I really really want it to look like the person I am painting. There are things about this one I’m not happy with, but I think I’m going to have to accept that I’ll never be happy with any portrait I do and just move on. It really did turn out pretty good by me.

detail from bedroom scene
This is a detail from the bedroom scene commission. It shows the lamp and radio on the nightstand next to the bed. I used gold metallic paint for the lamp base and on the radio dial. it’s not quite that shiny in person.
